Major system and content update for Dice Gambit
Hello Everyone!
Big update for y’all today.
Since the release last year we have been hard at work finishing up the full game along with addressing the tons of feedback we’ve received as all of you entered Neo-Talis for the first time!
Today we are shipping a huge update to the original demo, containing many updates, new content, tweaks and much more!
Before we go into the nitty gritty details, I want to give one warning up front. This patch will break all existing save files. Due to the amount of changes and reworks, your Inquisitor families from last year's demo will not survive the new patch, so please be mindful of that when updating. Going forward with this new release all new saves made will carry into the full game! So don’t worry, this won’t happen again.
Enough rambling here are the highlights:
Academy
The following classes have been added to the game and are attainable in the demo:
- Berserker
- Director
- Alchemist
- Operator
While not fully unlockable, some abilities has from the following classes will be unlockable through other means:
- Sniper
- Gunblade
The Inquisitor class has seen a major rework and will now have a few abilities and passives from all of the game's 11 classes.
The Vanguard, Shutterbug, Scorcher, Translocationalist & Knife Juggler all have seen minor adjustments and a few additions here and there.
The Show-Off has been retired, with their best abilities now appearing in other classes.
The Academy itself has seen some minor reworks to make it more intuitive, specifically you will now always receive an ability when you gain a new class, whether through multiclassing or not.
Relations
Alexi Nova will now be an unlockable relation, with a corresponding encounter and mission type.
All character relations have received new upgrades, whether it be classes, new facilities and stat bonuses as part of their relation rewards.
Relations will now be viewable through a new menu in the estate.
Character Stats
In order to allow characters to grow in power throughout the full game, while also supporting even more diverse and varied builds we are introducing character stats. Each character will now have 8 different stats which will modify their abilities and combat potential in various ways. They area:
- Attack Power
- Armor Power
- Buff Power
- Critical Chance
- Dodge Chance
- Initiative
- Dice Power
- Max Health
Every other character level you your characters will now be offered a choice of attributes to increase, allowing you to refine their stats over time to fit their role, playstyle and build. Because of this, characters will also level up significantly faster to ensure a steady flow of upgrades and abilities.
When marrying the total number of stats of suitors will be based on the character you are marrying, allowing stronger characters to find stronger partners.
When two characters get children the child stats will be based on the parents, again allowing stronger stronger characters to get stronger children.
This should allow new characters to always feel strong and relevant even when recruited late in act one, or in the following acts. Many times a new character may even be stronger, as they will level faster initially due to their lower level.
Character Stamina
All characters will now have a distinct stamina bar, which represents how well rested or exhausted they are.
Characters with high stamina will receive up to 50% increased combat stats, while exhausted characters can go as low as 50% decreased stats.
Whenever a character participates in a combat they will lose a fixed amount of stamina, and whenever a character stays home instead of participating in an expedition they will regain a large chunk of stamina.
We want to encourage you to play with more than one single roster of characters, rewarding you for letting some rest while others embark on fights. Expedition roster sizes have been reduced in the early game to make it easier to manage.
Character Creator
The character creator has received a huge pass of new assets, almost tripling the amount of choices available. Amongst them are a few highly requested additions such as Beards, Bald-support and Dreadlocks. Along with a few more wacky options as well.
We have also refined the character generator for children such that their assets will more closely resemble that of their parents. (Though do remember you can always edit them after the fact should you want even finer control).
Random Encounters
During expeditions you will now find random encounters which will lead to a various of different, well, encounters and events yield various unique rewards.
Save System
The cap of 3 save files has also been removed allowing you to create any number of saves.
Of course there are many other changes not covered in today's notes, everything from new enemies, balance changes, infirmary costs to readability changes, has been looked at and tweaked since last patch.
That’s it for today folks. Thank you so much for your continued support and all the amazing feedback from last time around.
As a small team your feedback and love means the world to us. <3
Thank you and stay awesome!
